Stop sign

Ran a stop sign that I never even saw and got a ticket. It was in California. How much is a ticket for that?

Whatever the fine is, I hope it is more than enough for you to pay attention next time.

$234 roughly. Gooogle search is an amazing tool. It's pretty new, so I can get how one would have never of heard of it.

I think that's a bit harsh, we don't know the circumstances.. Around where I live in the country there are some places with stop signs that are located at the bottom of a hill. When you're doing the 45 mph speed limit if you don't know that stop sign is going to be there then there is a very strong chance of not being able to stop in time.

I dont think you can miss a stop sign riding a very high horse.

Some signs here in buffalo are hidden by parked trucks, trees, other signs....

I don't know about you, but I certainly wouldn't like to be broadsided by someone blowing through a stop sign at 45 mph.

IF that IS true...
1) you live in the area and know the sign is there
2) you do not have full control of your vehicle
3) you need to pay more attention as to what is ahead
4) "harsh" my ***, the sign is there for a reason
5) your (in general terms) ignorance is not an excuse to not obey the law

So you feel you have an excuse to blow a stop sign broadside someone and seriously injure or possibly even kill someone... you don't

See #1 & 2 below.

Okay. I don't live in the area that I was at. In fact I had never driven there before. All I did was ask how much the ticket was if anyone had any experience. I know I deserve the ticket. I obviously ran right through it. But it was on a twisty windy road and yea I probably was going a little too fast but I was late getting back to town for my senior prom but he still clocked me going the speed limit. You don't have to be an ***. I realize I wasn't paying enough enough attention but it wasn't in the middle of a city either it was on a mountain road where I would never expect to see a stop sign. So please don't tell me how irresponsible I am when you didn't know the circumstances.

You missed the disregard for the "stop ahead" sign.

Shouldn't the ticket have the dollar amount right on it?

I got charged a couple years ago here in South Carolina for failure to stop at a stop sign. $275 later and I was all settled up. Ouch. Bet in Cali its more

There are so many miles of country road around me I don't think I've driven on 20% of them even. They don't seem to like to put the stop sign warning signs up either. I've not run one yet but I can totally see why someone could.
