Stolen Wheels & Tires **I don't know if JF has stolen forum**

Hey guys, a local Texas guy needs some help. One of the TX4WD Lake Houston chapter guys had his wheels and tires stolen Saturday night.

This took place in Alvin TX and he lost a set of brand new 33x12.50x15 Yokohama Geolander A/T's on brand bew 15x8 Chrome Modular American Racing wheels that looked like this.

Here's a shot of the tires.

If anyone in the area sees anyone with a new set of tires and wheels check them out for us if you don't mind. PM me if you see anything interesting...

dont put all your trust in them. They can be taken off in the same amount of time. Wheel locks ONLY keep an honest man honest.

Oh my god. That poor jeep look so abandoned.

Poor guy. I would be so pissed. To the point, to where if I ever found the sorry SOB that took em, like chaotic said, Ive got a hack saw and a twelve pack of corona.

Good luck, im searching ebay right now for em... keep us posted please.

NOTE TO SELF: Buy some wheel locks. I know they arent theif proof, but they will help a tad bit.

and buy a motion and shock sensitive LOUD alarm. if anyone tried to do that to my jeep, it would be making so much noise that they would never finish. i know that you can jam a socket over a wheel lock, but that would most likely set off the shock sensor, if them working around the jeep didn't do it already. alarm's aren't perfect, but for something like taking wheels off which takes a decent amount of time, a loud alarm should make them think twice about being next to the jeep for that long...

That's the most depressing photo I think I've ever seen. Alvin ain't a big town... keep your eyes open and you might seem them roll by. Tell the Alvin PD -- they're pretty good guys there.

A motion and shock sensor might not defeat a determined crook. Nor wheel locks. It'll slow them down, but if they want it bad enough, they'll get it. Case in point -- a few years ago Dad treated himself to an Acura Integra RSX. It was parked in the drive way beneath the bedroom window, on a slope, with the shock and motion sensor alarm on, wheel-lock lug nuts installed. He came out to find the car resting on it's belly -- rims/tires gone. These guys didn't just take the rims... the also took the jacks and blocks used to lift it while they stole them, leaving the car on the pan. There are some pro thieves roaming the street in and around Houston. I've had my share of stuff stolen or destroyed there.

Anyway, point being: take precautions and install everything you feel will help; but, if they want it, they'll get it. Precautions might make them walk on by. Or it might piss them off and they'll destroy something else. Insurance is your best bet. Good luck.

He should consider himself lucky ,round here they would have taken the whole jeep... and took there time removing what they wanted, and burned the rest at the bottom of a ravine.
