something fishy.......
just a warning.....i think there is a virus going around. I keep on getting emails from people or companies with attachments. They look familiar, but there is just something fishy about the address. The subject or text usually says something about LIES, STEALING, and sometimes says DONT OPEN ME. I opened the first one and it didnt do anything but slow down and lock up my computer. So if you see anything like that dont open it. It took me two days to get my pc back up to speed. It also seems the more you open them the more is sent to you. I had like 10 in one day then they stopped then i just started getting them back.

why would you EVER open any attachment that didn't come from someone you know AND that you were expecting?!?!?!?!?
There is only one way email virus' spread, and that is by people opening the attachments. If nobody opened the attachments there would be no virus threat (then all we would have to deal with would be the worms, trojans and malware) ....I shouldn't complain really, I am making a fortune cleaning virus' out of people's computers ![]() |

i know not too open up from people i dont know
i know that, but for instance i deal with a company that gives me great deals on parts. It is RDSI. Their two addresses that i knew of was sponsor@go2rdsi.com and service@go2rdsi.com. I got one yesterday from racing@go2rdsi.com. Well i contacted them and they said they had no email address such as that. I have been dealing with them for a year now and i trust them. And the funny thing was is that I just emailed them three days ago on a parts request. The next day they emailed me and gave me the price. Then the day after I had the attachment. I just got one this morning from ROKCRAWLER@YAHOO.COM. The subject was YOU WERE CAUGHT STEALING....but in the text was DONT OPEN ME. All the attachments are all different sizes from 8mb to 45mb. If you want i can forward it too you and you can see exactly what it is.

don't be forwarding virus's to me, I get enough of them from my customers.
I can see how you can be tricked into opening the attachments, that's why you NEVER EVER open attachments unless you know exactly what it is, why it was sent to you and who it was sent by. If you keep your virus definitions up to date and use a virus scanner it should identify most known virus's and delete them before you get the chance to open them but some will always slip through. if you are already infected go to http://vil.nai.com click on Avert tools and download Stinger.exe. it will scan and remove almost all known virus's. It's from Mcafees corporate site and is updated weekly so make sure you download a new every time you have a problem. In the last couple of months there has been a big increase in malicious virus's, in the past 90% of virus's didn't do anything besides propogate themselves and annoy people, lately there have been an increase in trojans that lay idle until you go to a known bank's website, the trojan then starts logging your keystrokes and uploads the log to a website for collection by the slimy bastards who made the virus |
