get ready to laugh, and make fun of me.

not sure why i'm admitting this to a croud as "polite" as ya'll, but here it goes

as i'm 18, and i've only been driving for a couple years, i did not know that your license plate is replaced every 4 years (at least here in FL, don't know about anywhere else). anyway, last week i was in tx, and my dad replaced the plates. this week, and when i noticed, my parents are in mexico, so the contact with him has been minimal since he has changed it.

long story short, the officers had a good laugh..

Back in college my friend had his plates stolen from his truck in front of a bar. He noticed because they stole both of his plates, but put a different one on the back. So there was just an empty space in his front bumper.

I'm very sure that I would notice mine missing...

Rubi, there are very few of us who've never had a DUH moment and there are FAR worse reactions than to have the cojones to admit you were mistaken.

I ain't laughing. Glad it got sorted out.

When I was in the service someone stole the plate off my car. I was hitching rides until my new out-of-state plates arrived. So one day I'm riding with a friend from my hometown, telling him my stolen plate story and to look out for the number. Sure enough, a car makes a right turn in front of us with MY plate on it!! I was ready to snap. Fortunately, my friend got them to stop, kept me from killing them, and got the cops involved. I had the registration in my pocket. When the cops asked the thief to see the registration, I told him it should look just like THIS!!! and shoved it in his face. I was so mad I was shaking, I wanted to hammer this criminal.

Apperently, it's a felony to steal a plate on a military base, and it screwed this idiot for the rest of his life.
