Newspapers in the UK were very fond of pulling this kind of stunt and sneaking firearms and fake explosives onto planes, most of the time they were successful.

Of course, if they weren't, you wouldn't hear about it.

... but it just goes to show that if someone wants to sneak a bomb or gun onto a plane, they'll find a way.

don't you just love how the media lets the world know how and/or when to get past our security.

I find it more of a concern that they CAN get past security, the TSA needs a good swift kick up the ***.

Would you rather security procedures are changed after someone sneaks a fake bomb on a plane or a real bomb?

Perhaps we should just pretend all our procedures are 100% effective and never publicize any flaws, because God forbid we force them into closing any loopholes.

last week a guy in Florida going to Texas (or vice versa, I can't remember) inadvertantly had his cat in his bag, and it slipped through the x-ray machine:

TSA is sucking it big time right now.

If it's anything like the cat in your picture, I'd be scared.

what im saying is that they should do this but instead of publishing it they should just be telling whatever branch of govt. and then they can fix it. then it gets fixed without advertising to joe terrorist how to get a bomb on a plane

The problem with government agencies is that they don't do **** unless the public start screaming for it.

From the story;
Quote:
While test results are classified and rarely leak out, those that have been disclosed typically don't inspire confidence. In tests conducted in 2006 and disclosed to USA Today last year, investigators successfully smuggled 75 percent of fake bombs through checkpoints at Los Angeles International Airport, 60 percent through Chicago's O'Hare International Airport and 20 percent at San Francisco International Airport.
So obviously they HAVE been doing the testing in secret and aren't fixing the problems, so by publicly illustrating the problem, hopefully it'll spur some heads to roll and the matters to be addressed.

One thing to note is that it will never make headlines when they get caught, only when somebody screws up.
