Its very hard to beat a Colt 6920 as a starting platform. And for under $1000 these days, it's almost a no brainer. It seems like most people who buy an AR wish they would've bought a Colt (outside of a few high end expensive manufacturers like BCM or Noveske). Colt is the gold standard in ARs and are legendary.

Read m4carbine.net, plenty of very knowledgeable people will also recommend the 6920.

If you really want to learn about ARs and make the best choice, go to m4carbine.net and READ. You're not going to find the same information on a jeep forum as you will on a dedicated AR forum.

Good luck buying one now, they're pretty much out of stock everywhere and will be for a while.

Went to Gander the other day all they had was 1 Sig., a Diamond Back, about 6 Mossberg AR in .22 and zero HI cap Mags.
