So you spent 20K plus for your Jeep ..

You go out and find the rig your looking for drop down the check/cash and out the door you go .. smiling ear to ear. You start doing all the mods you want, finally got it the way you want (with another couple thousand invested). Time to hit the trails!

My question is how many of you with new/er Jeeps after spending a small fortune go to the extreme with your Jeep? I have seen alot of videos and pics of fellow Jeepers litterally destroying their vehicles. There is no question that I bought my Jeep for the purpose of off-road pleasure but how far do you go? I would s**t gold bricks if I did an endo with my Jeep!

Just matters how much money you have to fix it after you break everything....

If you put all of your money you have into your Jeep and can't afford the upkeep after wheeling you probably shouldn't have spent as much on mods....because you aren't using the mods or the Jeep for what they were intended...

I spent 7k for my jeep and that is alot to a college kid who has always had hand me down cars. Neither me nor my family is in the position to spend alot of money on it (if it got smacked up we could, but college costs alot and is more important)

I go easy on my jeep, and the fac that it is stock keeps me on easier trails and obstacles. Its a preventative measure.

You mean like this?

Exact same spot on the trail:

With that being said I paid about $4k for my jeep. And I have put in about 4-5k into it. So I paid for it twice lol. I figure you mod the crap out of your jeep you lose the resale that you would get out of it stock so may as well beat on it like it was intended. If its your DD just use your head and you will be fine. Mine is my DD and ive learned after bumming rides, taking the bus, and borrowing cars that I need to be a little more gentle with wheeling.

My Rubicon, has probably cost around 32k or more. It would be all in vein if I didn't abuse it. Mind you, I'm not going to try to kill it, but I will beat on it every now and then.

I'm beating on an '06. I have no problem getting a brand new vehicle slightly dented and scratched. I hit a tree or two last time out and my front bumper and fender flare is a little messed up. No big deal though, I'll pop the dent in the flare back out and I'll have the bumper replaced within a year. As long as I don't break anything expensive, I don't mind. All my friends and family don't understand how I can abuse a brand new vehicle. They think it's pointless and irresponsible. I just tell them that I'm using it for what it was built for. Then I say, "It's a Jeep thing. You wouldn't understand." That usually shuts people up.

If I ever rolled, I think I'd cry....and the last time I cried was 1997.

I'd be a slobbering mess if I tore up my 85, though I only have about $3000.00 in it all together over the last 6 years.

Carnage trail, Colorado. EVERYONE stands up like that on that particular part.

I have about 30-35K into my jeep, even though i have done everything myself...i have saved probably over 5K on installs.

I still have a long way to go. But it's been paid for for a while. I wheel it pretty hard. Layed it over into a tree a few months ago and dented the front tub and fenders pretty good

Damage to a jeep can be easily repaired.

The rush and excitement of hitting the trails and crawling over rocks bigger than your Jeep cannot be substituted.

I gladly trade the dozens of dents I've pulled out of my rig over the years for the dozens of stories and memories I have.
