Watch out for sure, do not rely on Paypal to put a hold on the money. All this loser has to do is enter a fake tracking number for the Paypal dispute, then he walks away with the money. You get the remaining funds in the account if there is any. Screw Paypal and go for the CC chargeback. I have been selling on ebay for years and I am a powerseller and have gone through it all. Just giving you a heads up.

Jeff

Yes, as I alluded in my last post, it was definitely a scam. I'm currently in wait mode with Paypal, and communicating with the credit card people. It will be Monday before I know exactly how all this is going to go. I'm HOPING, that paypal froze his account BEFORE they let him withdraw the money. In that case, it should be relatively painless. Otherwise, we shall proceed forward with the CC chargeback, which is already being written up by the good folks at our bank.

For those of you talking smack about the mac's.......... they're great for graphic design, which is why I'm buying one.

And I still have my wife.

This post makes me laugh.

Let me see if I get this right:

You win a bid on an Ebay item and right away start having second thoughts.

So you come here for "advice" from strangers. Mind you the first post was at what, 3AM? By 6PM the next day you are convinced it's a scam and are filing a PayPal claim (I wonder what reason you gave them, "bad feeling"?).

Then the next day, noonish, after speaking with the seller by telephone, you're all of a sudden convinced it's just some dude selling his Apples and everything is cool. Whew! Confidence is 70%!

Two days later, it's back to being a scam. No evidence, no nothing, just a bunch of random strangers in the forum going OMG scam so it must be a scam.

Finally today, yes it was "definitely a scam". Pray tell, how did you find out? What definite evidence finally convinced you that it was a definite scam? The guy not calling you back? What do you think, if you sold someone something and they sent you payment and then cancelled the payment that same day and called you a scammer, do you think you would even bother responding to them?

You know, it probably was a scam.

But still, and I feel I have no choice but to do this: You are formally prohibited from using auction sites. Sorry! From now on you are only allowed to buy from real online merchants, you know, like quadratec or 4wd.com.

Any questions please see your wife.

Thanks! I see you have it all figured out.

Where I screwed up was bidding on the damn computers in the first place. Everything else was to cover my *** afterwards. As far as filing my claim the next day, that's what the Paypal woman told me to do. And, the reason I'm now convinced it was definitely a scam, is not because of his lack of communication with ME, which might be understandable. It's because of his failure to respond to Paypal, which will automatically result in the the claim being won by me.

Yes, I was stupid for bidding on the auction. But, after I did it, I could have done it your way and just waited to see if the guy would ship me the macs. And right now I could be still waiting for paypal to decide if I was worthy of a 200 dollar refund while the guy withdrew the $1650 from his account and went to the tittybar. So, genius, let's say you got drunk and bought the imacs, what would you be doing right now?
