Also what scope would you put on it if it were you, I was thinking ACOG or some type of red dot, suggestions?
I'd offer him a grand and see where it goes from there.

Optics wise, ACOG's are sweet, but you may also want to check out Leupolds CQ/T's. They are pretty impressive as well.

Bushnell makes a fake acog for around $300. It looks the same, but the sight picture is slightly different.

It was like 2 miles away and no planes were landing...

The peeps hiking only get pissed when we bring out the barret 50 cal. to take out boonie dogs..
then they call the popo then some of us have to give them a ride in cause they cant get in then they see we have the permits.. then they drink a beer or 2 they they go back...
We have WW2 tanks sitting in our offroad trails...

IMR 4064 is an excellent choice for 165-168gr bullets in .308 cases. It's my, 'go to' powder for the .308Win. and .22-250.
Another one to try is Vita Voury(spelling) N135. In my limited testing in .308Win. it was outstanding. Pricey stuff the last I looked but might be worth it. It meter's good too.

Very cool. Can you snap some pics of the tanks the next time you're out - and post them?

Wow... nice to see this place is still overrun with political nonsense... only not. I just stopped in to find the answer to a question about my Jeep (silly me). For the record, I still have my guns -- no one has attempted to take them away or even prevent my purchasing them. In fact, since the November elections, I've doubled my collection. Huh...guess that's overblown. Now, if maybe all the paranoid schizos would stop buying up all the ammunition, I might be able to actually go shooting. Can we get back to talking about Jeeps, now?
