Just paid for this, unfortunately I need to wait until it's been held for 30 days since its a used firearm. Pick it up in a few weeks.

I'm psyched. Mossberg 146B-A, probably in 95% condition. Should be a tack driver, especially with the original peep sights.

Great looking stock. I'm sure it'll look even nicer once it gets "the treatment".

Here's looking forward to a range report in a few weeks.

It's funny, "woohooo.....a 55 year old .22, great....so exciting" but like I said, these old mossy's are amazing shooters, and they're part of history. Still keeping my eyes peeled for a decent price on a Mossberg 44....

Mossberg fever is in full swing. Came across a local fellow selling a minty Mossberg 44 US. It's absolutely mint. Honestly looks unfired, and if not unfired, definitely unissued.

The bluing is perfect, and every edge on this thing is sharp.

For those that don't know, these were used as sharpshooting training rifles during WWII. Have become very collectible.

It's actually ACU, turned out way lighter than I wanted tho :-/

Anyway. Springfield standard M1A. It's completely stock other than paint and optics.

Running an older 1st gen Springfield Armory 4-14x scope with a .308 drop reticle mounted with an aluminum Sadlak mount.

I have run it out as far as 1000 yards.

A lot of them ended up in the hands of the Navy. I've got three of the original front sight hoods.

If you want a good read, pick up "More Gun for the Money." It's a history of Mossberg and his products. Pretty neat all the stuff they did before anyone else - range finding scopes, adjustable power scopes, target sights, quick detach swivels, etc.

Lucky on the sight hoods! I hear they, along with the S122 itself, are damn impossible to find.

I'll check out the book!

Nice!

I often contemplate returning mine to the wood stock.
