Testors model paint and acetone. took about an hour to finish, its also much easier to remove the selector than to try it with the selector in place.

It looks better in person, my phone takes some junk photos.

I have been looking at doing some color fill on two of my lowers and one of them is the Stag lower and I wanted to use green for the deer head. I have saw it in other places and it looks good. Just happens it will also be made into a 458 socom for deer hunting.

that was taken before I was done...ammo box, mags, and pistol will be filling that empty space. Here's a bad pic of more progress:

And yes it is! The components are very inexpensive so I can stockpile 2-4k rounds worth of components no problem. Currently have 3k worth on hand...just need to find the time. Case prep is a biotch!

I do like some of the things some of those guys have done over on arfcom with their pelican cases. I just don't have the need or use to go out and get one and customize the inside of a case like you did.

Reloading is the way to go before things went crazy and will be once they go back to normal. I was sitting on a pretty decent stockpile in a normal shooters eyes but to me it's not big enough. Few thousand of every caliber just isn't enough to make me happy.

That being said, I was ringing steel at 250 yards with the .45-70 this weekend, using my reduced power plinking loads.
Hey Dr. Marneaus,
how long did it take to weave that 550 sling? I am debating making my own for my Nova. Do you ever wish it was adjustable like other slings?

Hey thanks - it's actually really easy. It's Pelican's "pick and pluck foam". This case came with a few full size sheets of it. It's basically perforated cube sections that you can literally pinch and pull out based on where you want things. It's great!

When I was designing my 1700 case for my MK12 I spent a couple hours with a hot foam cutter getting things right. The pick and pluck took me about 20 minutes start to finish to get everything situated. Couldn't have been easier.

Just a tip, if you're going to order one of these sign up for the Amazon Prime free month trial. You'll get free shipping and that's a lot of savings when shipping a large Pelican.

Gun-related...I finally scored an LMT Enhanced bolt carrier group. I'll probably end up selling the bolt itself but the carrier's added vents and enlarged cam pin slot should make shooting suppressed a bit more pleasant
