I bought a DPMS in December, a few days after Sandy Hook, before everything got insanely expensive. For a $700 rifle, I have zero complaints about it. Probably put at least 500 rounds through it so far.
Someone recommend a 20 gauge to me. Preferably not a Remington, and preferably something made in USA. To be used for home defense and occasionally small varmint type animals.
I'd go with Mossberg, IMO. My 500 has never failed to fire, even when putting it through gun torture. Never an ejection problem either, which most under $500 shotguns have trouble with sometimes. I got my 500 for like $280 bucks, 18.5" barrel, great for close quarters defense, such as inside a dwelling. It comes with the typical pistol grip and a regular shoulder stock so you can change them accordingly. Mine sits behind my door loaded with PDX home defense rounds; three 00 buck shots followed by a 1oz. slug in the same shell. Mine's a 12ga, but they are also made in 20ga. If you have the finances though Benelli makes some great home defense shotguns, IF you're prepared to spend that much. Mossberg also makes a 590A1 tactical shotgun in 12ga that is very nice. If I were to spend that sort of money on another shotgun it would have to be the Saiga 12 though. So badass!
No matter what, stay true to yourself and stand up for what you believe in.
I absolutely love them. The new ones have a better trigger and sights, hence the pic. I'd bought the new one and was in the process of selling the old. They shoot great. 50 yds, 12 inch steel plate, 5 shots out of 7 were on the plate every single mag. I was amazed. Then I got shaky lol.
This is 50 shots rapid fire at 10 yards. I'd say that's ample accuracy. I dropped 3 off of the target. And that was with the old trigger, which was almost double the length of pull.
I have the same Experience with mine. It is a joy for ccw when in light cloths.
my fiance shooting my mossberg 88. i shot it several times to try and show her how it would kick and warned her in every way possible but i guess a person never really understands until they experience it for themselves. she was bound and determined to shoot it though haha.
