The Shield is a great option. It goes with me when the Glock 19 can't.

Is the Shield just a smaller version of the M&P? I have an M&P 9mm. Just got it about a month ago but have yet to shoot it. I need to make some time. They look very similar though.

The shield is dimensionally very close but has a shorter barrel and has a thinner profile, and I believe it has a single stack magazine, which is why the grip is longer than the regular m&p. It's meant to be the full-size concealment m&p, but s&w also make some scaled down m&p compacts like glock does, which are much easier to conceal IMO.

Can someone with an m&p 9 shield tell me the clip capacity? The regular m&p holds 17 in 9mm flavor.

I was looking at the full size M&P and noticed it had ambidextrous safety and such. Does the shield have the same? I am one of those damn lefties that has to have everything different.lol Just picked up my second handgun, taurus 809b. 100 flawless rounds so far. But am looking for something a little smaller if IL ever gets around to doing a CC.

My 8 shot .357 is a Taurus, ported barrel, makes it fun and easy to shoot, even my tiny girlfriend likes shoothing it
