Shipping Dilemma

Now that I'm locksmithing, I'm basically based out of my house. That's not a bad thing IMO, but I have to figure out a way to accept packages when I'm not here. I have a gated yard, and large dogs. Both stop UPS guys in their tracks. Anyone have any ideas?

Seems like this is more of a receiving dilema not a shipping dilema.

Have some sort of box that packages can be placed in but can't be taken out of unless you have a key.

I did a brief search on Google, and found some package drop boxes. Unfortunately they were $700+

You could always rent a private mailbox at a local mom & pop shipping center. probably $10 a month or less.

You're a locksmith. Can't you make some kind of locking drop box?

On the days that you're expecting a package, ship your dogs somewhere. When the package arrives the dogs will be gone and you can then ship your dogs back. Simple.

Exactly, or cordon off the yard so they are kept in an area that allows the delivery people access to the porch for package delivery.

if you have a ups store near you they can accept your packages for you also the fedex kinkos stores around me do that also,I use the ups store because I don't like getting that look from my wife, you all know the "look" when boxes come from some of our favorite vendors on here and it also allows me to free up that waiting time.
