list it locally on autotrader and cars.com

i would advise against ebay as they are theives and if u use paypal you will just simply loose too much money. i agree with your mom... stay away from the dealers.

why do people ask these types of questions?
do you need instructions to undue your zipper too?

sorry, its one of those days.
use autotrader.com to find similar vehicles in your area, use the year milage and condition, compair, and price yours where you think is fit from there.

Dealer will give you less then private sale, i mean duh, he has to make a profit selling it too.

Dealerships will give you (generally) the low end of the vehicles value, then they will try and sell it for the high end value (some times they will list it higher, then when you talk them down a few grand, you feel better and they still make a boat load of money).

Because he's also mentioning his mom in the same post (no offense to him or his mom).

seems your parents will be paying for hte new vehicle so why not just trade it in. the couple k difference wont make that much difference.

I sold my 1989 BMW 325iX, 1993 Subaru, and am I in the process of selling my 1986 Pontiac Fiero 2M4SE to recoup the costs of buying my TJ.

I got lucky and a guy approached me for the Subaru, he wanted to ice-race it. Put the BMW in AutoTrader. I'll probably have better luck parking my blazing fly yellow Fiero on my lawn and hoping either a young go-getter or a mid-life crisis guy buys it. Subaru 4WD and BMW AWD got me around real nice in the winter, in the summer I'd break out the Fiero. Now I have the best of both worlds.

I'd recommend putting it in AutoTrader or an equiv. magazine or online. Think about what you'd like to get for it, and then cut that in half for a realistic price. Don't take it to a dealership, he'll just low-ball you. Good luck.

i dont think anyone wants to buy any kind of vehicle off a 19 year old. ESPECIALLY a BMW.

but yea, get that thing cleaned up real nice and get it sold. i mean let your dad sell it after you clean it up. your parents gave you a 2000 bimmer and are cool enough to let you get rid of it and use the money to get what you want. id say clean it up, wax it, put the tire shine on it, detail it. park it on a busy street in a parking lot or something. if your dad works for a large company have him drive it to work. it shouldnt take too long to sell.
