Security Interrogator - Vehicle Entry

I don't get out much living here in Podunksville, but a guy told me today that his wife locked her keys in a Nissan truck and a LEO came by and set a gizmo on her hood, pushed a couple of buttons, and the doors unlocked. WTF?!

Not that hard to imagine since most cars over the past 15-20 years have a remote to enter them and those work on a frequency for each model.

This is exactly why i don't want remote start or remote door locks or wireless items. They can just barrage the cars sensor with code until it finds the correct code then unlocks .

There was a video on the news a few months ago where a thief was walking around the front of a SUV with something in his hand. Few seconds later, the doors unlock and he stole some stuff. Owner had a dash camera going that caught him, but it sounds similar to what the officer had.
