They're pretty aggressive off road tires, changing them out would be cheaper than a road bike, but I sure to like some of the road bikes I've been looking at on line. But $1900 (the cheapest one I like) would go along way towards 35's on the jeep.

I grew up riding BMX bikes....everyday, all day, wheelies, jumps, ticks...cuts, bruises, scars... I go back on my MTB last year, I only ride it on the roads, gravel shoulders if I have to, so going with a road bike (eventually) may be the way to go.

Check out bikesdirect.com I've heard a lot of mixed reviews about them but most bikes like trek and giant are all made in the same factory in China(or is it Korea) along with those bikes, just a different sticker slapped on it.

I ride my BMX everyday for work (I am surveying street trees this summer), which is probably about 10 miles per day. I love the pain of pedaling on a BMX...no other way.

Hopefully your seat is not pointed straight up in the air like a lot of bmx'ers

Tonight i didn't have the groove. No matter what I did could not get comfortable. 14.78 miles in 55.37 mins. 5 mins of that i was stuck trying to cross a road but my route gps app does not track that. Avg speed was a staggering 15.94 mph as a result. Someday I will leave before 730 allowing me to ride further. This weekend is looking good for a long ride as my inlaws will be in town so my wife can't play the guilt card on me.

Well, I probably exaggerated on the 10 miles a day. It's probably anywhere from 8-10. As for the seat, it is raised level to the top of my bars, and I have a comfortable seat. Most BMX riders would laugh at such a thing, but I really don't care since it's for my comfort.
