"Sandstorms inflict damage of about $540 million per year, and losses of crops and forests due to acid rain amount to about $730 million per year. More serious are the $6 billion costs of the "green wall" of trees being built to shield Beijing against sand and dust, and the $7 billion per year of losses created by pest species. We enter the zone of impressive numbers when we consider the onetime cost of the 1996 floods ($27 billion, but still cheaper than the 1998 floods), the annual direct losses due to desertification ($42 billion), and the annual losses due to water and air pollution ($54 billion). The combination of the latter two items alone costs China the equivalent of 14% of its GDP each year." - Jared Diamond, Collapse: How Societies Choose to Fail or Succeed

Finally. Lets hope Uggs die fast as well.

My girlfriend used to wear both.

Who wants tupperware on their feet and who wears slippers outside?

I don't care how comfortable crocs(UGGS) are, you still look like a dumb ***.

The father of a friend of mine has multiple pairs of Crocs. One to go with every outfit I swear.

I also dislike Uggs. I came close to owning a pair but never actually jumped on the bandwagon.

I own 3 pairs. Wear them all the time when im not at work / in uniform. I have lived in steal toe boots for the last 16 years of my life and to me Crocs are comfortable. I think it funny and kinda sad why people care so much on what I put on my feet.

I own a pair of camo crocs and love them for around the house/yard. And remember, anything that is camo is not gay.

Best quote from the article.

I liked them for wearing while boating or anywhere near water.

I didn't even know that's what they were called. I always called them "Cheese Shoes."

They still have those "crocodile" ads up in the Metro about them getting caught in the escalator?
