Ricers crack me up

Took the family out to eat today (Chinese buffet, man there are some jumbo sized people around). On the way back, we turn left onto a major street (4 lanes, divided) and I keep hearing a buzzing and I'm looking around for a motorcycle, so I don't run them over.
Well, a honda crx comes flying past us; it was spray painted two or three shades of black, had holes cut in the rear bumper (lighter that way?) and a huge fart can exhaust. We're beside him at the next light and he's revving his engine and being generally annoying so.... When the light turned green, he gunned it and I came out of the hole in 2nd gear and still pulled past him. I reached the legal speed limit, let off, he came sailing past and cut in front of us while flashing his lights. Guess that's a kill for him?

As long as he gets back to his parents basement before you do, it's a win.

Why would I go to his parents basement?

A guy came flying up next to me today and gave a rev, I thought it was a ricer. I revved back and looked over.

Turns out it was a new yellow Murciélago.

IDK, I've been around alot of ricers in the past.

But I've seen just as many if not more bone head things that people do to their jeeps

I agree with you, I get a laugh out of some of them. All noise & no go. I bet the boom box or whatever they are called them must of been 4000db also. I've seem the car sheet metal vibrating from all the noise. I laugh like he$$ when I see them coming down the road. Good post.

When I had my Mustang I had a day destroying ricers on the highway...then after wrecking an Infiniti G35's night I got a reckless driving and now I'm here

I'm not a streetracer, I occasionally go to the track, but if you hit legal speedlimit and let off, that's what 45-55 maybe, I don't think that's considered a win. I don't even come out of 2nd gear until 55-60 when I'm running at the track. A hole shot is just that, a win is the first one past the 1/4 mile marker. In his mind you punked out, but like you I don't care for all that crap painted on it and I don't want to hear a weedeater on steroids. the whine of a supercharger is all I want to hear on mine.

I'm sure he's over on a CRX forum talking about how some chump in a Jeep tried to race him and laughing his butt off, and calling you out for bailing on the "race". Saying "I bet he called that a kill" and laughing about it too, it goes both ways.

i cheat on my Jeep with a Turbo BMW 325is . Sporty 2 door coup. i like it because it looks good for the rich stuck up girls and gets good mileage. And i love to dust Japenese cars . interstate top end or red light to red light .

i like fast cars, but i hate being assosciated with people like that , i prefer American Muscle or German Engeneering (but when your dad buys you your first car you dont complain) , basically im saying i like fast cars but not fast car people

Ive also gotten 13 speeding tickets in the 2 and some change years ive had my liscence . and none of them were in the YJ . and 1 of them i was traveling 60 miles over the limit ... on the interstate

and did anyone else notice the irony that you had the ricer encounter following the rice encounter at the chinese buffet lol

I used to have an import...Acura Integra to be exact. I was into the car scene and the racing scene but never considered myself to be a "ricer" I used to hate the fact that whenever I would drive somewhere there would be some toolbag that felt the need to rev next to me at a stoplight or do the ricer flyby on the highway. It got reallllly old after awhile. It's just like the Jeep world where all it takes is a few people to do something dumb and ruining the sport for everyone else. It's been a few years since I sold the car and got the Wrangler and thats the number one thing I dont miss about my car.

Heres a pic for reference. It wasn't all show and no go...and I kept it at the track also....no need to race on the streets and get people killed. Like it or hate it...it was what I was into at the time and I dont regret it one bit.

I do miss the gas mileage though!!!

Here's my answer to ricers:

First 5.0, 2005-07. Surprisingly enough, I got 18-20 around town and 28-30 on the highway.
