Bummer. He won't even let you rent it for a year until you have the credit to buy?

Do as Ambugrl said: Dispute whatever there is. EVEN if it is your debt. The company has a month to comeback to it. IF THEY DON'T comeback to prove it is your debt. (which they are usually to busy to do) It gets removed within a month. And your score just shot up. I see it in the Car Business everyday.

Just fixing your credit report alone will bring up your score

you might want to start listening to Dave Ramsey and buy his commuter special here: http://www.daveramsey.com/store/spec...ommuterCD.html

whatever you do a new car payment is NOT going to help!

I really can't thank you all enough for all the input I have received. It looks like if I stay on top of some things, it may not take 7 years to be golden again.

As far as the Dave Ramsey thing, my parents just found a couple books of his and gave them to me.

If that rebuild it CC is from Premier Bank, set it in fire and run.

I had credit problems thanks to the ex-wife.. Premier gave me a credit card and the initial interest rate was 29%. They charged fees for everything under the sun. Hell, even calling them to ask a question. Then I found out that every 3 months they run a credit check on you to see if they can offer you more credit. But that check went on your credit as an application even if you didn't want it. So if your credit increase wasn't improved, your score would go down.

I finally got rid of them and got debt free. But thanks to an auto accident, I have medical collections on my credit report. Been disputing those since 2008...

Dont bother disputing medical collections. Call the locations and set up small payments, they will take anything. Those will stay on your report forever it seems
