Propose your own Stimulus!

On this thread propose your own stimulus package and how much it would cost. Give the pros/cons, how much it would cost, and how many jobs it would create. You can co-author bills, append to bills, do what you like.

My Stimulus Package: Give everyone a Jeep of their choice. You can either chose one brand new stock Jeep or take $30,000 to build your own Jeep.

Pros: 1. Everyone would have a car for work.
2. Parts suppliers would have alot of business.
3. Chrysler might be prosperous
4. Prius would be scared
5. Mechanics would have jobs.
6. Roads would not need to be maintained
7. Everyone would have a ride to work.
Cons: 1. We would need more gas.
2. It would be hard to find junk yard parts after awhile.

Cost: 300,000,000 * 30,000 = $9,000,000,000,000
*Thats if we give EVERYONE a JEEP.

Jobs: Unlimited, Jeeps break alot, need tows, parts, and stuff.

I say, send that $300 billion or what the heck ever amount it is to the tax payers directly. Send everyone who paid taxes at some time in the last 5 years a "debit card" with said amount on it. This way people can't put it into their bank accounts as most of us did with the stimulius last tax season and we'd have to spend it or loose it. I'm sure everyone would love a free $2, 3, or 5k shopping spree. That would spur an increase in spending and make everyone happy, except the lazya$$es who didn't work before anyhow. Also I do not believe this should go to the upper income folks who make more than $500k per year. Those guys have enough money to make their own shopping sprees!

Don't raise my taxes just to give me a little bit in return.

If you started spending 1 million $$ a day since the birth of Christ you would not have spent a trillion $$ yet.

This and pass a law that states anyone currently serving in congress cannot be re-elected - Period. Not from this point out, just this current bunch. They need to go, all of them.

There can be no fifty-fifty Americanism in this country. There is room here for only 100% Americanism, only for those who are Americans and nothing else.

When is POTUS and Congress gonna lead from the top and take a cut in pay? I doubt any of them are hurting finacially. Many Americans are having to take pay cuts in an effort to keep their jobs. Obama has demanded that CEO's make no more than $500k/yr if they use taxpayer money. How about they "suffer" a little?

My recomendation is the executive and legislative branches take a 50% pay cut. When the deficit they created is below $500 bil and unemployment is below 5% they can go back to full pay. While it won't solve our current mess directly it will provide a little incentive to do the right thing maybe.

So get out there and hunt and fish and mess around with your friends, ramble out yonder and explore the forests, encounter the grizz, climb the mountains, bag the peaks, run the rivers, breath deep of that yet sweet and lucid air, sit quietly for a while and contemplate the precious stillness, that lovely mysterious and awesome space. Enjoy yourselves, keep your brain in your head and your head firmly attached to the body, the body active and alive, and I promise you this one sweet victory over our enemies, over those desk-bound people with their hearts in a safe deposit box and their eyes hypnotized by desk calculators. I promise you this: you will out live the bastards."

Personally, I think congress should make about 2-4 mil per year. This way you are going to get people who actually want the job instead of those who just want the power and already have all the money they need.

This wouldn't work for people that have been laid off, but I'd like to not pay any taxes on my salary for 3-4 months. That would be a nice $3K stimulus for me.

I get a kick that as soon as the Tax cheater (Treasury Secretary Geithner) gets done laying out his plan for the second half of the bailout bill the market is down over 276 pts. Working like a champ! Idiots!!

I'll drink to that my friend. and again.

This can be solved without government, but the government, from local levels to the top need to shrink...NOW.

I have my own stimulus plan. It involves keeping my income.
