Elkhorn Ghost Town (actually just these two buildings) in southwestern Montana, just outside of Boulder. The rest of the area-- I hesitate to say town... settlement maybe?-- is inhabited by those that do not want to associate with people and normal everyday life. I was actually laying in an old collectors front yard to get this shot, avoiding bones and old bottles and cans as I lay there. Built around mining, Elkhorn has a few decrepit mining buildings, and these two icons in the center of town. The big building was a dance hall, city hall and boarding house all in one. The focal point of the town, really. In the upstairs, it looked like someone had smeared human or dog fecal matter all over the walls. A real shame, considering how old the building is and the history contained in it...
