The Jeep is a manly device. And a womanly device. An American device. Its a fitting instrument to transport the free people of a free nation with the respect to which we are entitled and the dignity that we deserve. Okay, were a little crazy to have a Jeep for a daily driver. But if we go off our meds, we might wind up in a Prius
Go to Heaven for the climate, go to Hell for the company.

When i lived back over there, i used to take the YJ up the Crest Highway at night to Mt Waterman and beyond (until i hit the snow gates).

I'd fill up two huge coolers with snow, and take them to my kids elementary schools the next morning. Snowball fights in Burbank (later Long Beach)! They loved it.

We do get snow here, but it's just not the same.

Took this a few weeks after I got my '04 WJ LTD. The reflection of the tree stump in the reflection is what is left of my favorite tree in the whole wide world after a wildfire burnt down our house, most of our trees, and basically everything I've ever owned aside from a few pics and my family, our dogs included. The story with the tree stump is that I always liked that big giant pine tree b/c it sat right in front of our front porch and had the hummingbird feeder attached to it and was just a beautiful big loblolly pine tree about 4 feet in diameter. It doesn't look like it but that tree was probably 4 feet in diameter and better than 100' tall..... Then a few years ago we had a big storm and the tree got hit by lightning and it had a huge slash of the bark destroyed but was still a healthy tree, then about a year or so later we had the fire that burnt down everything we worked our ***** off for since we were newlyweds. I'm keeping that god awful looking tree stump until it rots to the ground. I also kept a couple of pieces of wood from it that were damaged from the lightning strike and then hollowed out by the fire.
I had my first WJ, a 2wd when the fire destroyed the house and property. I bought this one some time in late August of '13. (Samsung GS4 quality)

Also, this is the FIRST 4x4 that I've ever bought with my OWN money. The only other 4wd vehicles I've ever owned were purchased by my dad when I was a kid. I'm not a complete n00b to 4wd vehicles, but I am definantly a n00b to 4wd vehicles purchased with my own money. I just never thought I needed or wanted one until the last few years. The fire helped me to realize that if I would have had a 4wd there are a lot of things I would have probably been able to do in the new WJ that I tried and failed to do in the old WJ.....But my old WJ will always hold a special place in my heart b/c it signifies to me the end of the old and the new one signifies the beginning of the new. If you had tried to pull as many old burned up pine stumps the last few years as I have in a 2wd WJ and then tried the exact same thing with a 4wd WJ and had it succeed then you know what I mean.

Spent the weekend in Desert Hot Springs (near Palm Springs). Sat in the hot mineral pools with my lady and my kids most of the weekend, drinking beer and cocktails. Rough life. Somebody has to do it.....

Took our new Rubicon Unlimited downstate Illinois to deliver some food to my tornado stricken family this morning.

As I headed down the interstate with the sun coming up to my left, I noticed a cool shadow of myself to the right and was able to capture it.

Felt like I had some sort of spirit guide Rubicon traveling with me, me on the road and it out in the field, wheeling.
