I'm thinking the XJ would have a tough time climbing that. Still, was a nice surprise to find when I was hiking southwest of Red Lodge one afternoon.

Well, we had some time on our hands and my brother-in-law has an apple notebook with built in camera that has all these features, so we decided to do some funny pics...

Well, to start, I do need to prove we are normal looking people. Here we are during our trip to Colorado in July 07.

NOW, TO THE FUNNY PICS...

Thanks!! It's still a work in progress as with everything else,,,,including my camera. I'd like to get the newest version of Photoshop. I have 5.0 right now. Also would like to get PS Lightroom. There are some amazing pictures in this thread that have been edited with both of them.

Here is a picture that I took today after the ones of my Jeep. First one straight from the camera and the second slightly edited with PS.

LOL!! I just got my camera for Christmas though. My wife already has a problem with all the money I spend on the Jeep! Between your photos and a conversation with a buddy who is into photography I was inspired to get the d40. So thanks!!

Macro is a good time.

Lightroom is my new best friend. I shoot only in RAW now...so much power in Lightroom I can't imagine how I lived without it up to now.

You'll love it. Workflow now is: shoot raw -> lightroom -> photoshop -> print

I have Lightroom but am not 100% sold on it.

I think it is overkill big time for me.

"Sandstorms inflict damage of about $540 million per year, and losses of crops and forests due to acid rain amount to about $730 million per year. More serious are the $6 billion costs of the "green wall" of trees being built to shield Beijing against sand and dust, and the $7 billion per year of losses created by pest species. We enter the zone of impressive numbers when we consider the onetime cost of the 1996 floods ($27 billion, but still cheaper than the 1998 floods), the annual direct losses due to desertification ($42 billion), and the annual losses due to water and air pollution ($54 billion). The combination of the latter two items alone costs China the equivalent of 14% of its GDP each year." - Jared Diamond, Collapse: How Societies Choose to Fail or Succeed

Overkill how? How are you using it?

I use it so that I don't have to worry so muh about white balance, plus it lets me shoot on the dark side and adjust exposure and color balances later. Powerful tool, but maybe it is more than your average consumer needs, I don't know. For me it lets me shoot on the conservative side and push my photos in post. It's a lot more difficult (and often impossible) to correct over-exposure than under-exposure.

EDIT - Adding a photo so I'm actually contributing to the thread.
