I didn't take this picture, my son did. He found this little guy in his driveway the other day and took some pictures of him.

"This little guy"....My butt! Those creatures are 10 times bigger than they need to be. Anyway...All they do is provide food for the other big creatures in my yard. In my opinion cicadas are to be feared as much as spiders. Nice pic though! Here's a slug to settle things down.

Ever been hit with one of those on a motorcycle traveling at 80+ on the interstate? I took one to the shoulder a couple weeks ago and it left a nice bruise. Keep in mind I had on a Joe Rocket jacket and a tshirt under that. I could only imagine what would have happened if it had been one of those cool harley riders that don't wear helmets and it hit them in the face, I bet it would have knocked them off the bike, no joke.
