Pittsburgh
Does anyone own any of the Pittsburgh tools from Harbor Freight? If so, how well do they work? Do they strip bolts? The reason I'm asking is that I need some tools to work on my Jeep but I don't need the toughest tools around because I won't work on it too often (just to save money as opposed to paying a mechanic). I was looking at a nice 25-piece wrench set that costs $18:
http://www.harborfreight.com/cpi/ctaf/Displayitem.taf?itemnumber=32647 And a 1/2" clicker torque wrench: http://www.harborfreight.com/cpi/ctaf/Displayitem.taf?itemnumber=239 Also is a 126-piece socket set: http://www.harborfreight.com/cpi/ctaf/Displayitem.taf?itemnumber=43953 And a pair of 6-ton jack stands: http://www.harborfreight.com/cpi/ctaf/Displayitem.taf?itemnumber=38847 I would be getting a 3-ton floor jack from sears however: http://www.sears.com/sr/javasr/product.do?BV_UseBVCookie=Yes&vertical=TOOL&pid=00950143000 And a creeper: http://www.sears.com/sr/javasr/product.do?BV_UseBVCookie=Yes&vertical=TOOL&pid=00951147000 I know that in the long run craftsman tools are better and will last longer but these tools only need to last me for a few years and general maintenance and repairs. Most likely a suspension upgrade and new steering stabilizer.

Their sockets, open ends, and box wrenches are ok. I do not care for their adjustables.

Think the 126-piece socket set and 25-piece wrench set is better than this 155-piece Craftsman set?
http://www.sears.com/sr/javasr/product.do?BV_UseBVCookie=Yes&vertical=TOOL&pid=00935155000 Also the Pittsburgh tools would be $20 less. |

I've got the Harbor Freight floor jack and it works fine - never had any problems with it.

By OK, I mean that they give you good service when used for basic Jeep maintenance. I would not use them on a daily basis in commercial use. They are an inexpensive way to get you started, they get the job done. IMHO
P.S. I keep a full set of off brand wrenches in the Jeep. If they get ripped off, I am not out a bundle.
