Parking soft top in city parking garage...
Any opinions on parking a soft top Wrangler in a parking garage over the week end? Specifically, heading to Pittsburgh. I never had a problem with any parking my XJ in Baltimore in a garage, but that is a fully encased vehicle. I do not leave any thing in the Jeep or even visible if it is in there.
I know the general idea is that if a thief wants in they will get in whether it is a hard top or a soft top.
Pittsburgh is a fairly nice place compared to Baltimore. Baltimore, I make a note to stay in the Inner Harbor area.

I've never had any qualms about leaving my Jeep unattended with the soft top. I just make sure that there's absolutely nothing in it. Unless you've got something inside that's worth stealing, they'll pass right over it.
I've left it in Newark on the street with the top and doors off and absolutely nothing inside and nobody's done anything. If you're in a garage you should be fine.

Unfortunately you might fall victim to vandalism but there isn't much you can do about it. Just leave the Jeep empty and hope for the best!

I've never had any problems parking my TJ in Baltimore garages. Of course, I could just be lucky that way. As others have said, leave it unlocked, and leave nothing of value inside of it. Hell, if it's going to be in a garage, you could always just take the windows out for the weekend so there's no chance of them being sliced.

Park under/near a light. Park where people driving by would see it. Pick a spot to park where if you were a thief, you'd rather go find another car in a different spot; even if you have to drive around and wait for a decent spot to open up, do it. Don't just park in the first one that opens up. Be selective about where you park if it's going to be there a while. If it will be there over the weekend, drive to where you're parking at night and look at the place before hand, and find out which areas are best lit up and most visible to passing traffic. Do some recon work.

I would take your top off if its going to be in a garage. I mean really if someone is gonna steal something they are gonna get it one way or another and in a wrangler its very easy anyway. So I would just strip the jeep top doors everything. I say doors because I know a guy who had his doors stolen lol not a good thing to come home too

I had problems when I parked in Norfolk parking garages when I went to school there. What stopped the vandalism was me parking my TJ on the top floor of the garage because nobody goes up there. I didnt have a single problem after I started parking up there.

i'd leave the top down and the doors off. then again, i did this at our old apartment complex and still had it messed with. some azz hat decided to flip my lights on for me, draining my battery; and some other d-bags thought it would be funny to put little kid's undewear and condoms in my backseat. lovely.

Why is that they will always cut you windown open even if the doors are unlocked? You would think they would check the doors or even unzip the window?
