Honestly did this effect the oven at all? This may be something I will do in the future. I wanted my springs red but I was concerned about chipping. I figure I will go use my parents oven while they are at work as then they can be confused about the smell instead of my wife. She would kill me but my mom would never do such a thing.

I bet with a good can of rattle paint, you wouldn't even need the oven. I just wonder how they will do when the spring is at full compression.

This stuff is supposed to be quite tough when used on guns. Not sure how it would handle flexing on a spring although it DOES say flexible in the description.

They don't make it in a lot of bright colors though.

I'm glad this was finally moved to GD. Still waiting for Mr. Weenie to come back and answer our questions!

ADMINITSTRATION IS HEREBY PUT ON NOTICE: I posted a tecnical writeup about how to perfect the TJ springs and it got moved to general discussion.

Photos of lift installed will be available thursday or friday

I'll start off by an important message about the greenhouse: It is made of only the plastic wall material and pvc...it survived sustained winds of 125mph during hurricane rita....I say this is due to it's aerodynamic shape...it is not deemed the STRONGES GREENHOUSE ON PLANET EARTH!!. It survived when even me neighbors homes were knocked down.

Questions?
I'll see if i remember what they are.

1. For the dude that has the same floor as me...I feel your pain..lol
2. The oven did not retain any smell.
3. DO not put newspaper in the oven...it began to smoke....use something besides newspaper.
4. We installed the rear springs Sunday...and will be installing the front ones Tomorrow
5. We flexed out the rear and fully compressed it...no paint damage so far.
6. The baking decreased the required curing time and seems to have strengthened the overall paint job.

Products used: 120 and 100 grit sanding paper, bulldog adhesion promoter, krylon fusion patriot blue, krylon clear coat, greenhouse, oven(frigidaire)

MY wife baked a pizza in there the next day....didn't taste like paint...and i'm living to post here today...

Thank you for your concern

Anyone for redneck jokes about baking jeep parts in your oven?????
I have heard that folks in LA also use the oven for a in home tanning booth.

Member Dr. Hook is reminded that these springs are not going on member WenieD's jeep as member WenieD prefers a more refined, Black coat of paint on his springs.

The comment about the rollba wing is not acceptable.

Member DR. Hook to be banned until mid to late 2007.

Thank you.

It sounds like his springs aren't the only thing that's baked.

I may have to try this. But without such blingy results. Maybe one less coat of Clear Coat from the Krylon, and maybe I'll find a Flat Red color paint.
