Original H. Foster painting

I just got this painting at a yard sale for 8 dollars. I didn't really think anything of it at first, but then i was just curious and googled it. I didn't find much except for something about Florida Highwaymen. I was wondering if anyone knew anything about this painting or where I could find a value. I found 2 of them on ebay, both buy it now $170, but they are a lot smaller. This one is 24"x36". Here is a picture:

I have several like that in my office which my Grandmother painted. She always put a date either under her sig or on the back of the painting itself.

Chances are you just stumbled upon a really nice painting from an individual with talent. I searched a couple of art sites which I frequent and the name was not found anywhere on them.

Very nice painting by the way. The man knew his stuff when it came to oils.

My house (apartment right now) is adorned with wildlife art and scenes similar to what you have there. I love the idea of a small cabin set amongst the trees silhouetted by a vast mountain range

Could simply be a private painter. I have some paintings by an ancestor of mine of his home town in the Kingdom of Hanover before the family moved here in 1837. Looks cool though! Good luck in your search.

That is a really nice painting. Could be worth a lot to the right person. Definitely a steal at $8.
