Orange Rims

So I have been thinking about painting my rims "Hot Orange." My question is, what is the best way to go about it? Should I just primer over the rims then paint, or should I blast the existing paint and then paint over.

I want it to last a long time, so I can hopefully sell it one day and my hope is that these will raise the value on the car. I think the black Jeep and orange rims will sell quickly.

I was thinking of something like:

Sand 'em down, use some self etching primer, then paint.
Or get them powder coated.

Will look sick nasty bro.

I think you'll be sadly mistaken. Most people want chrome or black wheels with their black vehicle. I think orange wheels will both lower the value and diminish the potential pool of buyers, taking longer to sell the vehicle.

Pretty sure he's joking or it'd be in the model specific Technical section.

I take it as a knock on people that think all their "special" and unique mods are going to grab top dollar at selling time.

You forgot the knock on people who post technical questions in GD as well.

So, people in the 'model specific technical section' are qualified to answer a question about painting rims?

I'd have at least recommended the paint/bodywork section.

But Vin doesn't need to worry about it for long. As soon as he pimps that orange color someone will swipe them
