I think it's a two fold problem, newbies post without searching, others hi-jack threads, both of those actions make the search feature more difficult to sift thru. which in turn makes people give up quicker and start a new post.

I frequent a few forums, JF and jeeps are new to me. but this same problem exists on nearly all of them.
I think more people need to learn how to ignore and move past the things that annoy them instead of sitting there and picking on it making a big scene, and in turn making just as much clutter as the person they got annoyed at in the first place.

I don't care where you sent it from.
I disagree, I think the downturn started in January 2008. The collective IQ of the forum plummeted because of one member, that we won't name, joining.

But you guys have to realize that new members don't understand stuff that the vets here do. We all started somewhere and had a dumb question or two along the way.

That is true. Some newbies, need to grow thicker skin and get back to the search before asking. This forum has been around for how long now, and I'll bet a lot of newbie questions have been covered, especially for the older vehicles.

Both sides could be a little more understanding.

I was told to come here. Further initiative to do much more than that does not appear to be present at this time.

Sure, but it's not the questions that bother me, it's the lack of effort to check if the info is already available instead of starting a thread and waiting to be spoon fed. I'm not talking about a newbie screwing up on the first post, that's understandable. Its the guys/girls who make a new thread for every. single. question.

Maybe I'm just too uptight from the etiquette elsewhere on the internet, but the search feature isn't there just for show

No one told you to come here, I think you're mistaking this thread for squazz's dream about not being able to find a shower.
