Not Even One Wave.

Yesterday I drove from my apartment in Lawrenceville (north of downtown Pittsburgh) across the city to Robinson Township, up to Mount Washington, down to Southside and across Oakland back to my apartment, running errands over the span of about four or five hours.
Not once during the total hour of collective driving did I get a Jeep wave. At first I figured, Well it is the highway, that's understandable, but even in 3mph traffic I didn't get a wave.

I even waved to a Commander when the TJs and JKs passed me up, but still nothing.

I'm not intending to sound whiny, i'm just curious if something in Pittsburgh happened to upset the majority of Jeepers yesterday in my area. Anybody else here go unwaved yesterday?

Who cares? They're probably focused on driving, thinking about things, maybe they don't know what a Jeep wave is. I don't wave at people on the highway either.

Honestly I'm about to give up with the Jeep wave! When I lived in Houston, TX and drove back and forth between Houston and San Antonio to see my parents I always got waved back at in my TJ by people in CJ's/YJ's/TJ's, but after I moved to Beaumont most of the Jeeps are JK's and I have waved at all of them until my arm is about to fall off. If the wave doesn't work I flash my lights and then wave and still nothing. Just a blank stare as they cruise down the road. I don't want to be a CJ/YJ/TJ/LJ only Jeep waver, but it's looking bad for the return JK waves lol

The wave is about the rules. You don't follow the rules, you don't get a wave. They should have it printed in the owners manual so we don't have to keep educating the newbies.

So grab a pen and take some notes.

Go ahead, I'll wait.

Got one? Good.

Rule 1: shut up and quit whining that you're waving like an idiot at people you don't know and for some unknown reason they refuse to do the same.

There is no rule 2.

@Indy, fair enough. I deserved that.

@Best4x4, the JKs almost never wave, the Unlimited drivers guaranteed never wave. If I try to wave at any JK drivers, it's when my doors are off and my YJ is covered in mud.

Thanks for taking care of the obligatory daily Jeep wave thread...

Two observations I've made...One, Most unmodified Jeeps will not wave back. Two, Modified Jeeps will not wave back if you are not modified.

I drive a WJ, I don't do "the wave"

If I drove a CJ, YJ, TJ, JK, or any other vehicle OR riding my bike, I'm still not going to wave.

I will compliment people on their rigs and I have received many from other people, I will wave but if it isn't returned it doesn't hurt me.

Why must there always be someone who whines about this? I don't get it? Who cares? What are you attention starved? Did your mother not give you enough attention when you were younger, always gave you the bottle?

Seriously, I don't wave because it doesn't matter. It was a CJ thing anyways.

It doesn't matter, no one cares if someone doesn't wave. Starting a thread should be punishable by a mandatory round of beer provided by the OP.

There's no such thing as "the Jeep Wave." Owning a Jeep doesn't make you a member of a club. There's no more of a special connection between you and random other Jeep drivers any more than there is between you random non-Jeep drivers. In fact, try waving at people who don't drive Jeeps. I'll bet you'll have about the same rate of returned waves as you do with Jeep drivers. The people in Jeeps who wave back at you probably have never heard of this silly "Jeep Wave" idea. They'd wave back at someone in a Sportage, too.
