The camry was perfect shifted the same time every time never spun the tires. Worked perfect for what he wanted to do.
I bet that got some looks.
1/4 or 1/8 track?

Smoked my buddies fusion today. He launched from 2k rpm. I launched from idle, still won off the line and led by 2 lengths all the way to 70. It's not rice exactly but a win is a win

This thread makes me remember funny happenings at the dragstrip against a Prelude.

I looked over at the kid after doing a run with my uncles Camaro and said to him

hey buddy: Vtec is like a really really hot chick, you spend all this time trying to hit it and when you do, it only lasts a few seconds

I got the birddie salute and he felt compelled to turn his "lid" sideways and look to his Asian pals for assistance to which they were drowned out by the rather loud and expensive 455

Anything that's relatively light will flat out haul balls with a built 2JZ. Even the big MkIV Supras they came in can run 10's pretty easy with just a few mods.

I love all performance cars, but displacement is only useful when going in a straight line or only turning left. Out in the real world, roads (and tracks) have twists and turns, left and right, with elevation changes and braking zones.
Is a 350+ci 300HP and 300ftLbs torque engine fun to watch blast down a 1/4 mile, sure. Would I drive it, yes.

Could it keep up with a 1.6l (or 1.8l) 4cyl with 50/50 weight distribution when the road gets twisty going up (or down) a mountain road?
Not a shot in hell unless the driver of the little import is a complete idiot when it comes to driving.

That's why I want a Fiero with an LT1. Yeah, seriously. I also really like Corvairs for some reason.

I'd lean more towards a Buick 3.8 turbo behind that Fiero or an MR2 Tbar.
The LT1 would work, and the MidRear setup keeps the weight balance from being an issue but with a turbo you keep the overall weight down and can make stupidly high hp.
