I know the difference between the two words... I do not type anywhere near as fast as I think though.. and therefore tend to perform edits on myself...

Sent using the force
When I met Wifey in late '80's in San Antonio she had just moved there from Massachusetts w/ 25 years experience in H/R.
She was working 2 jobs at minimum wage trying to get by because everywhere she applied she was getting passed over because she didn't speak Spanish, 150 miles inside the U.S.
I'll always remember that and if it clouds my judgement and hers, so be it.

I'd like to add my $0.02 to this discussion...Please be able to converse with me in the language that is printed on the money that you are earning. I have no problem that you came to the U.S. for a better life. I wish you luck, and I wont stop you from earning an honest living, but please realize that YOU CAME HERE! We speak the English language, and I dont even mind if you cant speak it well. I'm not going to ask you to recite Shakespeare

(unfortunately, e pluribus unum is on all of the money, and I cant figure out how to combat that, but my point remains)

English is based on latin isn't it?

EDIT: Google tells me that English is a Germanic based language.

Most non-English speaking countries pick up on a ton of english from watching our awesome TV shows and movies and listening to our awesome music. Enough to get the basics down, anyway. We're a large and influential country like that while most others...aren't. That's just the way it is, there's nothing arrogant or discriminatory about it.

Well you seem to be the only one in this thread attaching hyperbole to your 'points', so I think I'll pass on entertaining you with any 'defense' exhibits.
