an hp 44 is just a high pinion 44.. basically the drive shaft enters the top of the pumpkin instead of the bottom..

I know that but what should I look for to swap into my jeep?

well if you find one that fits (isn't the front of a zj, the same as a tj? so find one for a tj?) you just will need a shorter drive shaft.. lifted you should be able to run what you have and be fine tho..

Yeah ZJ TJ XJ and MJ are all the same in the front. Do any non-Rubi TJ's have D44's in the front?

hmm.. you know, i'm not actually sure.. i know the Wagoneer's have a hp44 in the front.. my friend almost bought one for his MJ, but then he got there and it was a pile of junk..

What about this? Is it just the housing with no axles or gears? I can't tell by the description, I assume it is or the price would be more.

doesn't look like a high pinnion.. but it does say it has 3/4 ton inner axles.. so i'd say it's complete..

I'll have to call for more info, would low pinion be worth it? I would just be running 35s on it.

well... high pinion is nice.. but its not completely necessary.. 35's would be fine on it. you will just be able to flex a little better with a high pinion and not get hung up on things.. i've never been hung up on my front axle except for right on the pumpkin..

Nope. All non-rubicon TJ's have Dana30.
