new member of the family added today

Just adopted her today. 1 1/2 yr old Boykin Spaniel. She just had a litter and the owner could no longer care for her. I have a 6 year old Chow and they seem to get along great. Just thought I would share.

How much does she weigh? I've been looking for a medium sized dog around 50 lbs.

Right now she is 40lbs.I want her to add about 7-8 pds.We really lucked out. She is a mooch, but arent they all?

I had a Boykin as a boy, she was the most instinctive duck dog I have ever hunted with. One could latterly keep your head down and watch her out of the corner of your eye, when she licked her lips, suck in, and hold her breath, that meant the paddles were down and it was game time. She broke like a SOB but that was our fault for not working with her. Hard headed as can be, but a great dog and wonderful pet. And very protective of the family.

I’ll have another one some day.

Hey nice to hear. Yes she seems great . I do not hunt anymore but she seems like she would do well. A little stubborn but I have only had her 8 hours.lol I cant wait to work with her.
