I use the same thing, only the previous version. Close shave every time.

Are you using canned shaving cream? I could never get a close shave with that stuff.

I use a Gillette Fusion with Gillette shaving gel. I shave with the grain first, and then I go back and shave against the grain. I have a pretty coarse beard, but I usually get a close shave doing it that way. The Gillette Fusion razors have an extra blade for trimming sideburns and beards which is very helpful also.

If that doesn't work go get a straight blade and use some hot shaving cream.

Every electric razor I've ever used has tried to rip my face off. They seem to especially enjoy chewing up my neck, and that crap hurts. For some reason electric doesn't work for me.

Go old school with a shaving brush, a bowl, and cream. The shave is much closer.

I have a nickle allergy so electric razors are out for me.

My electric works great. My wife pays extra attention to me after I shave.

If you cannot shave against the grain without cutting yourself then, well, I do not mean to sound like an *** but I would suggest to keep practicing and learn how to shave. Or just buy a good electric razor.

30 years ago when I was learning if I did not have a close before mass my dad would slap me in the back of the head and send me back to the bathroom, eventually I quit cutting myself

Just a drive by posting from an older guy, feel free to ignore me

I read some hogwash about how you have to give an electric razor 30 days or so, becuase your face has to 'adapt' to it...something about how the regular razors actually remove skin cells, but the electric doesn't, so it won't be a super close shave for the first few weeks...

Turns out it was completely true. I haven't used a regular razor for years. My face is as smooth as Kenny G's elevator. Electric is so flipping easy.

Was there also a 30 day "remove the flesh from your face" period? I never lasted that long.
