So you may have did something to stop this guy. ok I believe I would have too.

You can't ask why 50+ people did not try and stop this guy that are probably around 20 or so.

Especially if you have never been in any situation even close to it and not know what stress really fells like. That is what I am saying.

Not saying you have or not. Most likely have.

Grewe02,
Exactly. Someone on JF has a nice quote in their signature. Goes like, "More gun control is like trying to stop drunk driving by making it harder for sobor people to own cars".

Who said anything about getting rid of guns all together???? I just don't think its a good idea to let students wander around campus with firearms.

So you're saying because of their age they can't be trusted?

I don't think it is the average Americans place to decide when lethal force is required. This was an obvious case, where if someone had a weapon they would know what needed to be done. But once we have everyone walking around delivering vigilante justice with their concealed weapons over crimes like petty theft people may be whistling a different tune. I for one would never shoot anyone unless my life or someone elses life was on the line, but I've talked to many people who protect property with deadly force.

How is this incident terrorism by the way? It isn't that's the answer. I knew as soon as this happened that it would be a spring board for the agendas of both pro-gun and anti-gun people and organizations.

I know that, you know that. Practice without the scope with straight iron sights. You should have to qualify (no different than an officer) to carry CCW in my opinion.

Anti-gunnies are always looking for an excuse to more ammo for their gun ban stick. I keep getting emails from the Brady Group. And they are using yesterday's event to their advantage.

You could have because of your training. Ask any CCW carrier to establish a point of domination in a room and he will look at you like a deer in headlights.

Very good point. I think some states need stricter CCW requirements, but I know it will never happen. Mainly they need to have something like a week long training course on proper gun handling and usage.

I think it's funny that more than a few people, in this thread, have said that they are gun supporters, yet, don't trust anybody else to carry a weapon responsibly. What makes you so special? I think it's our responsibility to protect ourselves, not the governments. I say, the more trained, armed, responsible people, the better. Banning guns doesn't take guns away from the criminals, only the law abiding citizens. If there were a legally armed student or two, there wouldn't be 32 dead. The killer might have gotten of a couple of shots, but, it surely wouldn't have been like shooting fish in a barrel, like it was. Those that blame the guns are, in my opinion, ignorant.

Isn't this whole thread about pro-gun people using this event to their advantage?

I said all pro-gun individuals, I didnt realize you spoke for all of them.

Read the first post, and tell me the writer of it isn't using this horrific event to their pro-gun stance's advantage.

Events like at VT just get people going into a heated debate over guns no matter what.
