This is right on.

Everyone that is a law abiding citizen carry a gun. Not good. There are to many stupid people. Hell the yankees lose and 30 people die.
Hell the United states will look like Iraq, just without AK's

The more guns on the street means more dead bodies

I think it would be out of the question to properly train the numbers suggested in skills like weapons retention and situations involving civilians in the vicinity and many others that would build an effective 'law abiding' citizen to stop another VT or similar incident. It is not as simple as having a sidearm and a CCW to stop a killer. You must have to know how to use it effectively in many situations, in which most people do not have.

I am a gun owner and I do believe in rights to carry, but encouraging civilians with little knowledge of how and when to use a weapon is a scary thought.

You never know what you would do until you are put inthat situation. Believe me

on a side note... why does everyone assume people who have a gun are inherently irresponsible? sure there are a few bad apples out there, but that can be said for every community. i doubt anyone would like it if i came in here saying that all jeep drivers are drunk rednecks who just go out and tear up the land b/c that is all they hear about... when the majority of us are very responsible. this is exactly what happens to people who own a gun, but on a much worse scale. go ahead and make carrying guns illegal... then only criminals will have them. carrying a weapon is not a responsibility that anyone should take lightly, but i feel strongly that it is always better to be prepared.

That's valid. "Gun toting Asian" just sounded a bit bigoted when I read it. You could have said a number of other things. Just keeping us all in check...
