Need to buy/upgrade her phone

I am clueless with phones and need help buying a new one for the lady.

She has an older samsung smart phone that is dumb and small. It's slow as ***** and will not break no matter how hard we try. It also has memory issues. It needs replaced.

I don't have alot of cash but I don't want anything stupid cheap. I also want pre-paid, none of that contract crap.

She does the following:
text
facebook
pictures
games (sometimes)
instagram (whatever the hell that is)
gps
browse internet

She does not:
call or talk on the phone (deaf)
need anything related to talking to the phone (i've seen people talk to a phone but not talking to someone, kinda freaky)

Any recommendations?

I would recommend getting another Samsung.. She will be accustomed to the interface. S5 is probably the best bang for the buck. (get a case though I've seen lots of newer Samsungs with cracked screens)

Personally I prefer Motorola phones.

Nexus 5x (new), Nexus 5 (used) or Motorola G.

All are unlocked. Nexus 5 doesn't like Verizon (I think).

You can do things the right way or the wrong way.
Or you can do it MY way...which is like the wrong way, only faster.

Do you have to use an unlocked phone to use the prepaid cards they have at walmart and other stores?

Can't really go wrong sticking with Motorola, Samsung or a Nexus device.

Since she is deaf and thus does not talk on the phone, have you thought about a small tablet?

I highly recommend the LG line. If you read the reviews, it's similar to the Samsung, but without the price. My wife and I have the LG3's and my future son inlaw has the LG4. He was an HTC convert.

Well I decided to go with a samsung galaxy s4. I got a super deal on it and only pay $45 a month for unlimited everything. I gave it to her early and she LOVES it. It's 11 billion times faster and better than the old phone.
