NEED ADVICE! gauges swap XJ '88 to '96

hello!
i wanted to know if a '96 cluster off of an XJ would match up with an '88 as far as the wire harness clip and speedo cable. Both clusters look very much the same but not sure if it would really fit or not. Or how new of a cluster can i go with my model? all advice is much appreciated! thanks!

No it won't work. I think 91 was the first year the used an electric speedo. So anythig before 91 should work.

You might get more responses in the XJ tech forum
