My Wife is the Best Wife EVER... (...or How I Joined the JK Club)

OK.

Some of you may have seen my thread about being Frustrated in Motown.

Cliff Notes Version: Put in order and Deposit for a JK in February. After 4 months of "misinformation" (aka "Lies") from my dealer and still not even a DELIVERY date, last week I requested the return of my deposit. I was more bummed than I should have been - angry to have had someone take advantage of my patience, and amazed at the total incompetence of an American car company and Dealership.

After a week of stomping around, my wife dragged me out of bed yesterday to see my brand new JK parked on the front lawn.

"Happy Birthday" was all she said.

Amazing woman - I hope she decides to keep me for another couple of years.

Here is how she found my Jeep.

Nearly 10 years ago when I bought my TJ, I had a similar experience with local dealers. None of them wanted to "play fair". This was right at the beginning of on-line transactions and such. I found a dealership in Hillsdale Michigan - an hour or two away from me - who promised me the right vehicle at the right price. When it came in, he tossed the Wrangler on a flat bed and drove it to me. He put it in my driveway and offered a test drive.

At this point no $ had been handed over, and nothing had been signed - I could have just said: "Thanks, but no thanks"

Instead, I said: "I'll take it" and we signed all of the paperwork on my dining room table and I was a happy TJ owner for nearly a decade.

Early this week after I "fired" my dealer, my wife called the same dealer in Hillsdale. He found a couple of JKs that were close enough to what I wanted. She picked one that is PERFECT. Had them put on 17 Inch wheels and a lift kit, and they delivered it to us in time for my Birthday. Again driving it to my front door prior to any transaction being finalized.

Congrats! Glad you got a good one! Few of us do, I am just as lucky. You are going to love that you got the soft top, it's a Jeep and I have absolutely no use for a Jeep with a hard top. It is quiet and allows you the real Jeep freedom that the "Freedom" top cannot!

Now let's get some pics posted of that sweet gift from your sweet wife, or you can post some pics of your sweet wife with your sweet gift!

Well, you either got good taste in women, you're doing something right, or... she's a REAL Jeep gal.

Congrats and Happy Birthday.
