Is my jeep trail rated?

I have an 01 jeep wrangler Sahara edition, a friend of mine said it's trail rated. I don't know, it is 4x4. So how do I tell?

if it doesn't have a badge then it has not been trail rated.. and dont go buy a badge and put it on the jeep because that would make it less trail rated then it already is.

I was always under the impression that the whole "trail rated" badge thing was just something they threw on there. I don't believe there is a difference between a Jeep that it trail rated and one that isn't. My TJ didn't have a trail rated badge and did just fine on the trail and my WJ doesn't have one either but that isn't going to stop me. I think it is just a marketing thing.

It's just a sticker someone in marketing came up with. There's really only minor differences from 1997-2006. Basically Jeep puts the "Trail Rated" Jeeps through a "tough test", which your Jeep could pass with flying colors.

Simple test. Drive to your closest off road park/ohv and drive it on a trail. If you make it out alive, congratulations, you have a trail rated Jeep. In case you don't want to risk your life, read this other thread.

You need to let at least 3 JF members drive your Jeep offroad. They will then vote Yay or nay. If 2 of the 3 vote Yay then you get your trail rated badge.

I would rather have a tool I don't need, than need a tool I don't have.
