My 440 Duster Project update...

I had a post on here a while back my 440 duster build up. Cant find it now so....

I did a trial fit of my new(to me) tires... 275/60 (roughly 28" x 11" R15 on back (15 x 8 wheel)

and I belive a 235/50 R15 in front (cant remember now).

Just thought you would like to see it!

Sweet! I've had 3 A-body Mopars myself, one being a 67 Barracuda fastback with a 440 transplant. The other two were a 71 Demon 340 and a 75 Dart Sport 360. Man I love those cars!!!

Of course, what proud papa wouldn't!

1975 Dart Sport 360

1967 Barracuda

1971 Demon 340

That's me behind the Demon pointing.

I'm currently Mopar-less (except the Jeep) but have been looking for a clean Duster to mod. Found a rust-free 74 Duster granny-car with a 225/904 in it that's just begging for a 440 transplant but I'm a tad cash-poor currently so it's not in the cards yet. Good luck with your build!

PS: Check out these guys for an excellent RB transplant kit for A-bodies: http://engine-swaps.com/

Cool Cars!

I am way ahead of you on the engine swap.com!

I picked them up late last year, I got in on a group buy at www.bigblockdart.com

They are chrome coated, I also have their motor mounts, I have rebuilt an 8-3/4 rear that now houses 3.23 posi, 3" over arch HD springs, All polyurathane bushings, 1.09 Torsion bars, 1" sway up front (haven't gotten the back yet), welded k-frame, re-enforced lower control arms, rebuilt the entire brake system, and so on and so forth.

It was originally a 318 2 barrel, 904 trans, 8-1/4 rear, I picked up for a few hundred and drug it out of the farmers barn, he said the motor was locked up. I didn't believe him but I knew what I was getting into.

Been away for a while...

Thought some one would like to see these..

ALMOST have the motor down, just waiting for a few little parts and enough time...

Thanks!

I dont think I detailed any on the 440 build up so... here is a quickie. Essentially a stock '73 Rotating assembly, Re-balanced, new rings and bearings, Comp Cams
.477 - 480 lift cam, Lightly ported 516 heads with the larger valves from the early '70 346 heads, Weiand Aluminum Dual plane intake, I made a huge baffle that I welded in to my oil pan, Mopar Performacne windage tray, and the list goes on and on...

I just thought some one would like to see this..

Thanks..
