My daughter got a TJ...
Well, we gave the new 2WD TJ a test run, its no WJ, but it held up better than I thought...
Need more flex for sure... More traction from the 10" Goodyear tires was definitely needed, the rears just spun at the bottom.... Enough playing around, we needed to get serious so we headed for the trail… The trail looks a bit washed out…. Its not lifted (yet) so we were a bit apprehensive to continue…

We got a local to help out and spot for us…
But, we didn’t get up the courage and headed back to regroup and come up with a game plan…. After a brief discussion, and a brainstorming session we decided to give it a shot, and we actually made it through, with only a little water inside (these actually float pretty good!!) An action shot of the beast crawling out of the swollen river… |

With the help of the local ( we never did get this good Samaritans name), we were guided up the other bank out of harms way….for now
Looking back, we were pretty excited; our adrenaline at this point was really high! On the other side we encountered some rather large obstacles as we climbed up to the peak, this fallen tree proved no match for the 2WD 12 Volt power of the TJ.. |

Nearing the peak, we were all exhausted, but overwhelmed by a sense of adventure and accomplishment, proud to have tackled the “backyard trail” (who most rate as a 9 in the winter).
Now, we made for home, back on the main road, reflecting on the great adventure….already planning our mods for our next excursion out into the great unknown… We sure could have used 4WD and at least a rear locker…. Open diffs were surely our weakness. Short Video of the TJ in action Last edited by WJChris; 01-29-2008 at 08:31 AM.. |

Great pics. We've got the C-5 Vette, that trail was way too hard for it.

Thats great.
Check out this website to get some more power and traction ideas. Turn it into a 18v or 24V and throw some lawn mower treads on them and itll go anywhere. Oh and lift it too. lol ![]() You have to pay for this guys stuff but the page will give you some good ideas alone. There are vids of the mods and what they lead too. http://ungn.net/powerwheels.html Huge website of free info. http://www.modifiedpowerwheels.com/ Do it!

LMAO man...nice. I can't wait to see some 18's and a 6.5" and LA convo on that... pick up one of these too:
http://www.harborfreight.com/cpi/ctaf/displayitem.taf?Itemnumber=92860 A bit overkill by specs, but when HF says 2000 lbs, general rule is divide by 4 = 500 lbs rated pulling lol... I am going to watch this project closely.

I think if you disconnect the front and rear sway bars it will allow more flex. That thing is awesome.

Dude, a 2" BB would provide all the flex you need for that beast.
Very funny pictures, made my day. ![]() |
