Must-have Android apps?

I finally entered the 21st century and got a smartphone, now what do I need to download from Android market (besided the JF app I'm using right now)?

Welcome to the war that is IOS vs Android.

What you need is an iPhone emulator.

Both OS' are great. I had a droid 2 and now have an iphone 4, i like both. They both have their ups and downs. Anyway, pandora, facebook, JF, Ebuddy (makes it so you can use FB chat without FB), Photobucket, youtube.

There are others but i cant remember.

It's a war when you start one like that.

I have

Lock screen widget (so you don't need to push the button every time)
Chomp SMS
Better Keyboard 8
Brightness Control (curvefish)
My Verizon
Photobucket
Shoot Me (screenshot)
StumbleUpon
Google Voice (way better voicemail)

im a huge fan of pandora and Opentable

i was in chicago one time and went to get lunch. the receptionist said it would be a 45 minute to one hour wait. got on open table, made the next available reservation and had lunch within 15 minutes at the same place.

Samsung Intercept. The adobe flash player app won't come up in the market, maybe the phone's current version of android doesn't support it

Moto mApps Oregon & Washington <-- both great 4x4/OHV trail maps
Moviefone
My Tracks
Oregon Trip Checker (free version)
Pandora
Quickoffice
Realtor
ShopSavvy
Slacker
Soundhound
TuneIn Radio
Ulysse Gizmo
US Traffic
Video to facebook
Weatherbug
Wedgetsoid
What's the best deal?
Yelp
Zedge
Ziprealty

...and more. Those are just some the the more used apps I have.

I don't think they have been selling any phones that came with versions previous to 2.1. Check the hardware settings on the phone and let us know.

2.2 is needed for flash. It should be available for the intercept, may have to download the upgrade online though. Don't have time to fully research now, sorry.

Stupid zombies is a very fun angry birds-esque game. Crawl 4x4 is glitch but fun too.

Pulse is a great news reader app.

May pop in later with more.

edit: Oops. Just saw the most recent post.. flash should be available if you have 2.2... not sure why it isn't. Check your browser settings? It may be set to on demand only.

Edit edit: a quick search yielded this:
"the Samsung Intercept will not be getting Flash. Android 2.2 isn't the only prerequisite. Adobe has said that Flash will only be available on phones with an ARMv7 (Cortex) chip or higher, and unfortunately, the Samsung Intercept has an ARMv6KZ, the previous generation ARM chip."

Skyfire does have limited but decent native flash support though. Give ot a try.

pirate 4x4 has an app now, its not as smooth an JF, but if youve run out of JF things to look at its always there. Cherokee talk also has an app that runs just like JF, but the users are pretty consistant with only tire and lift questions, but the tech/writeup section on that forum is totally worth it. spacejunk is a cool app for taking girls on dates to the beach, and yellow pages is pretty handy as well.

Not sure what spacejunk is.. but it makes me think of Google sky map. VERY neat app.

Also, Google Goggles. Most of the Google apps are worth downloading now that I think of it.
