I think you have your answer in the previous posts. It's a national park. There is nothing to do there except hike and enjoy the views. Unless you are going down into the canyon you can see it and admire the view for about 30 minutes and then move on.

I drove past "Bedrock" and the kids eyes really popped. They thought it looked cool, but I'll bet the novelty wears off in the 100 degree heat. That place is right out in the middle of nothing and there are no trees that I could see.
Williams is certainly worth a visit. If you like fishing, there is Kaibab Lake just north of Williams on the road to the Canyon.

peeing over the edge could be fun, see if you can finish before it hits the bottom

ok...so this is what I came up with...things might change while we're out there, depending on how long we spend everywhere
itinerary
from Littleton,CO to Williams, AZ going through Moab,UT - 11 hours 59 minutes (estimated through Google Maps *)
from Williams, AZ to Littleton, CO on Historic Route 66 - 11 hours 9 minutes (estimated through Google Maps *)
*estimated times do not include rest stops, or gas stops
day 1 - a.m. leave littleton
meal eat at trading post restaurant
http://www.camerontradingpost.com/restaurant.html
p.m. arrive at Williams)
day 2- a.m. see the grand canyon (about 1 hour from Williams)
p.m. see Planes of Fame (Williams)
http://www.planesoffame.org/
day 3- a.m. see bedrock city (Williams)
http://www.bedrockcityaz.com/
p.m. see meteor crater (Flagstaff- about 35 minutes from williams)
http://www.americansouthwest.net/arizona/meteor_crater/
day 4- a.m. leave williams on historic Route66
http://www.historic66.com/
p.m. arrive at littleton
There's the train in Williams where they reinact a train robbery, but the cheapest tickets are $70 for adults and $40 for kids. Maybe SEVERAL years down the road we could do this. (When the kids would enjoy and remember it.)
