I'm sitting here at work, minding my busines when I get a frantic phone call from downstairs! "Someone is in your Jeep!" Clear view outside my window and sure enough, someone is in it. Me and a co-worker go out to confront the guy. There are two other guys standing by a tree. My co-worker gets there first and knocks on the door of the Jeep. The guy opens the door and my friend asks, "What are you doing? This isn't your vehicle." To which he replies, "Oh I'm sorry, I thought this was my Black Jeep!" :Confused: "Black!"

He had a beer in his hand and after we walked away, his two buddies totaly denied that they knew him, even though they were seen walking down the street together. I totally wanted to throttle the guy that was in my Jeep, but my cool head took over!

Needles to say, I am getting an alarm, this afternoon so that I will know when someone is in my Jeep.

Yeah, I've never been one for a quick temper. Maybe I should also invest in a cutoff switch! That way, they can't hotwire it as easily. Only a weeks gone buy since I've owned it and already people are eying it!

get the alarm with the motion sensor - that way it goes off as soon as they reach into your jeep...
jeeps are just not good from a security standpoint, that is why I got an Olympic trunk, trashed the center console and made my own from an ammo can, and put a lock on the hood. but I have the doors off most of the time (280+ days of sunshine/year... ) so I can't stop somebody from sitting in it...

That's what I'm looking into getting! I've never had a vehicle stolen and I'm not about to let it happen to this one.

Glad you got there in time.... Beating them probably would have gotten you an assault charge, then they would sue you and take your Jeep anyway. I would have taken pics of them in it, so you would have proof. Take McMickey's (Mcgawb) advice on the motion sensor. If I ever left my Jeep anywhere for any amount of time, I would definetly have one. As it is now, its in the garage or guarded via security here at the plant...

You are a much better man than me. I would have lost it, I would be in jail for murder. I don't take things lightly when it comes down to my Jeep. I don't want you(in general) near it, touching it, or even looking at it. I've worked to hard to let someone mess w/ my Jeep.

one month after I bought my jeep it was stolen. I got it back and all they took was my backseat and personal items, but they did a real ameteur job and trashed my steering column trying to get it started and that was what cost me the most in parts to fix. as soon as I got it back I went and got a proximity alarm installed. Now, it makes a loud a$$ noise if anyone even gets too close it, and you can bet I go running to it when I hear that noise. just the thought of someone ever messing with my jeep again makes my blood boil!

Exaclty why I thought twice about it.

Definately getting it today! It's a good thing that I can park right next to the building, otherwise, who knows what could have happened.

Could it be possible that he did mistake your Jeep as his? I mean, I've made the mistake a couple of times to try to open the car door in a shopping mall lot only to find out it's just another car that looks just like mine. I mean, if they were trying to steal it or the contents, why didn't the 2 guys alert him that someone was coming? Why didn't they take off running when they saw you two? I'm not taking up for this guy, but it could've been an honest mistake. If not, then I'm glad you got there before anything was taken.

On a side note, I find it hilarious some of the comments people make about what they would do in this situation. Murder, maiming, etc. Before anybody asks, yes I've been ripped off more than once. Was I pissed? Oh yeah! Was it worth going to jail or killing sombody? Of course not. Everything can be replaced. Most people would probably just sit there in shock or fear instead of doing something. Not directly talking about anybody here, but people in general. Just my $.02

I guy at work has a Tracker with a soft top. A kid with a skate board was playing around in the parking lot. One of the guys that work in the tire center with the owner of the Tracker thought he seen the kid in it. So three of them went down. Opened the door and one guy said "you picked the wrong truck to mess with today". So while they draged him across the parking lot he was saying that he thought it was a friends truck and things like that. They called the cops and held him there to they came. I was there for that part and was hoping he would run. Becauses I'm sure I wouldn't be able to catch him until we are out of site. But he wouldn't try it.

I drive a white Jeep! He said he thought it was his black jeep!
