Most Jeepers in Fort Collins Colo Suck. No Such Thing as Jeep Wave
I have decided that most Jeep owners who live in Fort Collins Colorado are spoiled little punks who had mommy and daddy pay for their rigs. I have gotten one Jeep wave since I have moved up here. Granted I drive a typical soccer mom rig, but even when I am out cruising Leslie's TJ (which I do as much as poss) I still get nothing. Even with KCs and Black Steelies. I mean, its not a mean trail rig, but most of the time its muddy and it looks like it gets wheeled, but the other Jeep owners in Fort Collins don't even flinch.
This is why I have decided that they are just spoiled punks. I mean honestly, how could a college kid afford an 04 Rubi Unlimited with at least 4 inches of lift, a warn winch, huge tires etc. But thats what you see up here, is a ton of nice looking rigs that are WAY TOO CLEAN to ever be wheeled. The only guys that ever drive around in dirty, wheeled looking rigs are the guys driving older ZJs, YJs, 4Runners etc. And these are the rigs with modest lifts, missing bumpers, and beautified with dents and forest pinstriping. Makes me mad though, even these guys don't wave. I have waved, at all these guys (pretty rigs and dirty rigs) and they look at you like you are stupid, either that or they are too absorbed in their cell phones or whatever girl is in their Jeep with them that they don't even see you. I got my first Jeep wave ever just last week, while driving through the foothills in the TJ on our way to a trail run. Felt good to finally get one. Sorry about the rant, it just sucks that with all the nice looking rigs running around up here, nobody takes the time to wave. Also-- I am not saying all the Jeep owners in Fort Collins suck, there are some cool ones, I mean after all I live here

Raab- It's like that all over the place anymore. I haven't been up to Ft. Fun in a while, but I know down around my area, it's typically only the modded rigs that wave. I try to wave to just about every Jeep I see, but I'll be honest... a lot of the Grand Cherokee's tend to get overlooked for the same reason you said- most are driven by soccer moms that wonder what in the hell you're waving at them for. If you ever see me around though, you know I'll wave!

Hey guess what? Waving doesn't make you a better Jeeper than anyone else. So they don't wave. Big whoop. I don't drive a Jeep for the satisfaction of a wave from others. While nice, it is just a wave. This sounds like I am bitter and stuff. I am not, but I just don't understand why people care so much about it. I wave to hot chicks all the time. They never, ok hardly ever, wave back. I am not getting into a hissy over it.

waving annoys me. if you are waving then you are not paying attention to the road and where you are going
i especially hate it when bikers whine about other bikers not waving. sorry but i have a policy of keeping BOTH hands on the bars. if you want to people watch go over to the mall and hang out, aint that what malls are for anyway? peace out ![]() |

Yeah I've spent some time in Ft. Collins, and I got some waves in the YJ. Maybe it's the fairly normal looking cherokee that's working against you. How many people are expecting a soccer mom jeep wave? As for no waves in the TJ....I dunno. Are you flipping them off or waving?

Just got back from Denver and even I stopped trying to wave after the first day there. I guess there are just so many Jeeps running around that maybe only the mods wave back
No biggie though, it was just cool seeing them all.

I don't wave anymore in the Jeep. The only people that wave back on a consistant basis are the Porsche's. I always get a wave back when I drive my 911.

Put full size axles on, lift it, get big tires, get a sawzall, flat fender, comp cut, dovetail, custom cage, and then the waves will come. I have a limited budget so I don't worry about getting waves.

It used to be a thing that people in the country did as well as jeeps. Farmers will wave back!

That is because you can't throw a rock in CO with hitting a jeep. I counted one day going to work. I counted 46 jeeps. I only live about 15miles from work.
