Yeah, I know they use parts bin, but I said rarely for a reason. VW has built the 914, 924, and 944. And Porsche is building the RS2 for Audi. In recent times, other than the Cayenne/Q7/Touraeg, it's rare since VW and Porsche are not on great of terms with each other. Compared to GM, Ford, and the Japs....this is rare. Porsche is it's own entity, unowned by any other car manufacturer.

Porsche solely built the 944/951. they're on excellent terms with each other now (trust me I have to get up at 2am CDT for the board meetings )

Good glad to hear it then. Hopefully Porsche will not degrade and bastardize itself like so many other manufacturers and keep producing possibly some of the most well engineered machines ever built. And I didn't mean that VW designed and built the 914, 924, 944. I meant they built them literally, some of them. Your an investor or shareholder? I own some Porsche shares and according to a friend at BMW up in North Jersey they haven't been on such great terms lately.

The 924/944 are worthy of wearing the Porsche badge. Same for the 914

914/924 yeah - 944 tool dies were bought by porsche from VW after the 924 fell on its ***.

I don't see them being bastardized any time soon as PAG is the most profitable manufacturer, per vehicle, in the world (something like ~$26k in profit per car) they wont **** that up any time soon

MTM - did you mean "aren't"?

the 951 was the first car, in history, to win its racing class in SCCA/IMSA using catalytic converters

So what's your point? A lot of car brands grew from others.

Hell, if it wasn't for Ferdinand Porsche VW probably wouldn't be in existence either.
